We Got Kittens!
The easiest rescue ever! A neighbor told me of some kittens "in the bushes" near my house...Junipers, of course: impenetrable. They had also been on the sidewalk...so not hiding all the time. They looked, in the photo he sent, too old to be easily socialized. OY. But a storm was brewing, and it seemed that the mother had been taken by a coyote. Double oy.
I told the neighbor that I'd get them, and went over to give it a go. Land sakes!! Another neighbor had stepped up, captured all four, and had them in a cage! Surrounded by children! That was a first!!
They were smaller than I'd thought, and halfway socialized. Could not believe my luck. The rescue gods must know that I'm too old for this shit, and gave me a hand.
Not only that, but they are pretty healthy! No diarrhea, unusual, and no eye infections. Also unusual. thank you rescue gods.
They were in a big cage on the coffee table for the first day. Then given their freedom. They still go into the safety of the cage at times. You can see the bridge to the couch in the vacuum photo. They weren't overly frightened; there had been noise on the street...Bless them!!!
It looks like they'll be ready for their new homes by October 15! I'll be posting more photos, and also news on Bee's Facebook page, Bee Holistic Cat Rescue and Care.
